About KiwaniTalk

KiwaniTalk is a public information program produced by the Kiwanis Club of Dearborn. Every week KiwaniTalk is shown on Comcast Cable, channel 25, in Dearborn, Michigan, and in 28 other communities in the immediate area. The show is broadcast each week at 7:00 pm on Tuesday and 9:00 pm on Thursday.

May Shows

Jeanette Christe and Frank Bewick interview Governor Jennifer Granholm in the offices of the Dearborn Times Herald. This special KiwaniTalk edition was to have shown May 4 at 9 pm, May 6 at 12 noon and 6 pm, May 7 at 11:30 am and 5 pm, and May 9 at 7 pm. With director Ken behind the camera, the governor noted how federal taxes from Michigan go to other states, subsidizing road construction in Alaska, for example.

State Representative Gino Polidori is interviewed by Kiwanian Ray Scoboria. Mr. Polidori reported back to area residents on many of the initiatives currently debated in the state legislature. Off camera he discussed the ticklish civil liberties issues surrounding protests at servicemen's funerals with our attorney behind the camera, Gary Gardner.

City Council President Pro Tem Thomas Tafelski visits with Frank Bewick on the KiwaniTalk set. Councilman Tafelski discussed the ongoing developments along Michigan Avenue in Dearborn with special attention to the city's acquisition of the historic Montgomery Ward building. Mr. Bewick averred that the city should not get involved in real estate while Mr. Tafelski felt that the city government could be a positive force in preserving the quality of life in the area.

The commander and past commander of the Dearborn Veteran's Post came by Comcast studios to raise awareness for the veterans' main occasions, Veteran's Day, Flag Day and the upcoming Memorial Day and Dearborn Memorial Day parade.
